where it all began
My name is Jenny and we live in Cheyenne Wyoming. I am originally from Eaton, Colorado and ever since I was a little girl I wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog. I grew up with Golden Retrievers (also a great dog). I had a male stud AKC golden and when I was a teen I got my feet wet in dog breeding. My dog fathered several litters and it was so fun. I knew I would want to do it again.
Now as an adult with her own family, we have my dream dog. Bernese Mountain Dogs are kinda "big lugs" - even the smaller ones, like Kendall. They have less energy than some of the retriever breeds, but are still just as family friendly. They are super guard dogs. They were bred for pulling carts in the Swiss Alps in teams of 2 and for guarding herds (but not herding them).
We knew we wanted to breed our girl, and for a while we thought it would be with another Berner. But we have decided to start with Poodles. We believe every person should have the opportunity to have a great dog and making them more allergy friendly opens it up for a lot more people. We do plan on doing both purebreds and doodles.
We make sure both parents of our litters are genetically tested and clear of all genetic disorders and defects. Because of this, we offer a lifetime health guarantee against genetic disorders. Our puppies come with a veterinarian certificate of health and first rounds of vaccines and dew claws removed. We also deworm our puppies regularly.
What is a Bernadoodle like?
Bernadoodles are smart and easy to train, but they do end up with a little more energy than a purebred Berner. Always research your breed!
We believe in genetic testing to ensure healthy puppies. We also do "Early Neurological Stimulation" (ENS) with our puppies. This boosts their immune system, gives them a head start with brain connectivity for training and encourages the best qualities of temperament to develop.
We also begin the house breaking/potty training process at 2 weeks of age. This doesn't guarantee your pup won't have any accidents - but it decreases the time and effort of house training in your specific home significantly.
what is a Bernese Mountain dog like?
A BMD or Berner, as they are often called, are great dogs. They are "big lugs" and most are eager to please. They are very smart and easy to train - although they can be stubborn and some bad habits can be hard to break. They are great adventure dogs, but don't do well in the heat. Once it gets into the 80's a Berner will just want to find the cool spot and chill. They come alive in the winter and sometimes don't want to come inside - even when it's below 0.
temperament testing
We do temperament testing with all our puppies to help you find the perfect match. We can help you know if you're getting an adventurer or a homebody, a social butterfly or a keeper to themselves. Bernedoodles make excellent therapy dogs.
